Discord Introduces Service To Allow Digital Creators to Earn Money From Their Content

Wiki Article

Discord, the Discord platform used by creators of content, has rolled out a new service that it has been testing for the last year, Server Subscriptions. This allows creators to earn money from their servers through subscriptions that range from $2.99 up to $199.99.

The service also includes The Creator Portal, which is a “one-stop store for all things Creators and creators of Discord,” Discord’s Derek Yang writes in the blog post. The company states.

Yang says that”it’s completely up to the community leaders and creators on how they use it. From pricing to the offering, Server owners can create their server subscriptions however they want while earning 95% of the cash they make after deductions for applicable taxes.”

Server Subscriptions allow creators to set up a paid subscription tier on their servers. The creator of the service, Bella Poarch, is offering three levels:

Tier 1, which costs $2.99, includes a monthly video and access to the server’s features, such as creating threads for public discussion.
Tier 2, which costs $4.99 per month, offers members the right to vote on polls, early entry to upcoming merchandiser drops, and the features provided by the first tier.
Tier 3, which is $9.99 monthly, provides access to behind-the-scenes content and the benefits from the two previous levels.
Yang states that creators can also share their subscriptions to servers “outside the Discord community! Promo pages let you make a shared webpage that can showcase everything the benefits your Server Subscription has to offer beyond Discord.”
